About Mariposa

People ask me all the time how I got into this kind of work.

The truth is, I've always been this way.

Some of my earliest memories are of experiences I didn't yet have words for—past-life memories, leaving my body, sensing what wasn't being said, and an innate knowing that there was far more to reality than what I could see.

As a child, I was deeply sensitive to people and the unseen currents around me. I could feel incongruence, deception, emotion, and relational dynamics long before I understood what I was perceiving. Without adults who could help me make sense of those experiences, however, I eventually came to a very different conclusion:

Something must be wrong with me.

By adolescence, that sensitivity collided with major moves, loss, family upheaval, and disconnection. I lost my footing—and, for a time, myself.

Being sent to live with my grandparents became an unexpected turning point. For the first time in years, I was surrounded by stability, love, and people who genuinely cared. My aunt introduced me to the principles of recovery and the 12 Steps, giving me a framework for self-inquiry and a relationship with something greater than myself. I began exploring metaphysics again. I began trusting my sensitivity rather than fearing it.

And then, as a foreign exchange student in Ecuador, I encountered Shamanism.

A door opened.

What followed became more than thirty years of exploring consciousness, healing, spirituality, psychology, the body, energy, hypnosis, expanded states, relationship, identity, and the extraordinary architecture of human experience.

Along the way, I healed much of what had once wounded me, reclaimed parts of myself I had abandoned, questioned what I'd been taught, challenged who I thought I was, and eventually came to understand something that fundamentally changed my work:

Our humanity isn't something we're here to transcend. It's where the spiritual work becomes real.

It happens in our relationships, our bodies, our choices, our wounds, our contradictions, our losses—and in those moments when life asks us to decide who we are going to be now.

That's the territory I work in today.

I stand at the intersection of lived experience, spiritual wisdom, and more than three decades of study and practice—not as someone with all the answers, but as someone who knows this terrain intimately.

My work is for people ready to look beneath the surface. To question what they've inherited. Heal what still hurts. Recognize the patterns quietly shaping their lives. Reclaim the voice, intuition, worth, freedom, and knowing they may have lost along the way—and consciously participate in what comes next.

Because awakening isn't the destination. It's where the real work begins.

Love Always,

Mariposa
